Elementary School Teacher Suspended After Parent Notices BB Gun
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A Seminole County elementary school teacher has been suspended with pay after a BB gun was seen on top of his vehicle on school property, according to school board officials.
Jon Diesbourg, of Eustis, a second-grade teacher at Forest City Elementary in Altamonte Springs, was suspended after a student's parent reported seeing the rifle on Thursday morning, officials said.
School board officials told Local 6 News that the rifle was found on Diesbourg's car after the parent reported the finding to school officials.
Altamonte Springs police investigated the incident and the case was turned over to the state attorney's office, school board officials said.
Diesbourg was suspended with pay, pending the state attorney's review and the school board's internal investigation, officials said.
A letter detailing the incident was sent to parents of students at Forest City Elementary on Thursday, school board officials said.
The letter stated that Diesbourg told school officials that he mistakenly left the rifle on his car.
